Henriette´s story
I grew up in Norway and moved to London where I worked in finance. In my early 20s I experienced chronic back pain due to an autoimmune condition, and I turned to Pilates as a way to manage my pain. After leaving corporate, I decided to pivot and build something around what I genuinely loved - reformer Pilates. I founded Sunday Sporting Club, a small by-referral studio in Marylebone offering highly personalised classes and a third space where people can connect through a shared hobby.
How did movement and Pilates become such an important part of your life?
It started as a way to cope with the intensity of working finance combined with chronic back issues. It really was the only thing that made me feel balanced. Over time, it became something I relied on both physically and mentally. That shift is what made me want to build a business around it.

Sunday Sporting Club
What originally inspired you to open Sunday Sporting Club?
After teaching Pilates and experiencing more elevated, community-driven studios abroad, I realised London was missing that kind of offering. I also felt there was a lack of third spaces not centred around alcohol, and a growing sense of loneliness, especially among young people. I wanted to create a space where people could connect and form friendships around wellness, in a more private and considered environment.
What was your vision when creating Sunday Sporting Club?
My vision was to create something that sits between fitness, hospitality, and community - not just a place to work out, but somewhere people genuinely want to spend time. I also wanted to challenge the idea that fitness spaces can’t be aesthetic; most studios focus purely on function. I designed it to feel like a Marylebone apartment: warm, considered, and inviting, so people feel relaxed, let their guard down, and naturally connect.
What makes Pilates such a powerful form of movement in your opinion?
It’s low impact but incredibly effective - it strengthens, lengthens, and builds real body awareness. My classes are definitely challenging and a real workout, but always rooted in breath, alignment, and core engagement, which is where you actually see results. It also forces you to focus inwards, making it a powerful way to decompress and switch off in an otherwise very overstimulating world.
What do you hope people feel when they walk into your studio?
Calm, comfortable, and immediately at ease. I want it to feel like stepping into someone’s home rather than a traditional fitness space: somewhere you can switch off, let your guard down, and feel a real sense of belonging. Ultimately, a space where you feel both grounded in yourself and connected to others.

Movement is non-negotiable for me, even if it’s just a short session. It’s less about perfection and more about consistency.
Henriette’s Wellness Philosophy
What are a few simple habits that help you stay balanced in a busy schedule?
Movement is non-negotiable for me, even if it’s just a short session. I also try to create small moments of calm throughout the day like walking, stepping away from my phone, or taking time to reset. It’s less about perfection and more about consistency.
What’s one wellness tip you think everyone should incorporate into their routine?
Find a form of movement you genuinely enjoy and can stick to. Consistency always beats intensity, and when you actually like what you’re doing, it becomes part of your lifestyle rather than a chore.
How do you take care of yourself on days when you’re not feeling motivated?
I’ve learned to accept that everything comes in ebbs and flows - you’re not going to feel 100% motivated every day, and that’s okay. I don’t force intensity; I’ll still move, but in a way that feels supportive, or simply take time to rest. Giving yourself that grace is just as important as pushing yourself.

Style and off-duty life
Favorite piece from our The Off Duty collection?
The black windbreaker is probably my favourite! It’s so versatile and effortlessly cool. You can style it with the matching trousers for Pilates, or dress it up with capris and heels for a more sporty-chic look. It’s one of those pieces that are just so easy to throw on to complete any look.
What does “off-duty” look like for you?
Off-duty for me is very effortless - you’ll usually find me in loose trousers, a white T-shirt, and either sneakers or ballet flats and a big slouchy bag. It’s all about comfort, but still feeling put together. Simple, clean, and easy to wear throughout the day.
How do you balance comfort and style in your everyday wardrobe?
A slow morning as I love to sleep in, followed by a good Pilates session at Sunday sporting club. Then a walk with my dog in the park and a bit of vintage shopping around Notting Hill. I like to finish the day with a sauna session and an early dinner with friends in Marylebone.
Henriette’s Inspiration & Lifestyle
Where do you find inspiration for your work and lifestyle?
A lot of it comes from my own interests in fashion, interiors, art, travel, and hospitality. I also feel so inspired by the people around me. My friends are a huge source of inspiration as they’re some of the coolest people I know. I love being out, meeting new people, and exploring new places - that’s where a lot of ideas come from.

Are there any daily rituals you never skip?
Breakfast is a non-negotiable for me. I like to start the day slowly and properly fuel myself. Recently, my go-to has been a blueberry and banana smoothie with vegan vanilla protein powder and kefir.
